Justin Bieber was born on 1^st March 1994 in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. He was brought up by his single mother.

He taught himself how to play a number of musical instruments. These were the guitar, trumpet, drums and piano. He also writes songs.

When Justin Bieber was only twelve years old he entered a singing competition and came second. He wanted to show his friends and family how he did. So he uploaded a video of his performance at the competition. The video was put up on You Tube.
