There are only a limited amount of users on the internet allowed to try out their new Social Networking Site so far.
This Field Trial will enable Google to get rid of any glitches in their system.
If you want to try it out you can contact them and they will add you to their list.
But it will not be long now before Google allows everyone on the internet to join their Google+ network.

Privacy and security
Facebook’s complicated Privacy Settings have been a major source of confusion and irritation to its users. Many members of Facebook have been unaware that their photos, comments, profile page and private details are potentially available to anyone who has access to the internet.
Google+ have stated that their privacy settings will be easier to use for members of Google Plus. It also says that the security issues that Facebook has experienced will be eliminated for users of their Social Network.
Friends Category
Google + allows its members to separate their friends into different Circles. These Friends Circles are clear and easy to use. Therefore members of this new social network will be able to write comments, post photos and videos with the knowledge that only those specificfriends that they intend to see these WILL see them.
In my opinion this is a major step by Google to guarantee complete privacy and security.

Google Plus has created the main page of their new Social Network Site in another unique, interesting and user friendly way. As with other social networking sites there are instant updates of all activity by the Google+ member and their Circles of Friends.
This works like news feed only the user adds any topic they are really interested in. Then when something new comes up on the internet about this subject it is posted on the member’s Central Web Page
Hangouts Feature
Google Plus has added another unique feature for their members which is destined to become very popular and much used. Do you ever feel like you would love to have a chat with a group of your friends or your family on the internet? Well with the new feature called Hangouts you can have a video chat with up to ten people all at once.

I believe Google Plus is better than Facebook for privacy, security and unique features. Time will tell who will win the battle for the most used and favored social networking site on the internet.
But in my opinion I believe that Google has come up with the winner in the battle of the Social Networking sites. Google will become the leader in this field with the creation and launch of Google+.

Thanks for reading TajSingh and your comment. Yes I am very excited about this new Google+ too. I use Facebook but only to keep in touch with family abroad. I am very wary of their lack of security.
After reaearching about this new social network that Google has launched I know that Google have addressed all these Privacy worries I have. I will be one of the first to sign up!
I guess I will have to go have a look there and add myself on just as for twitter and Facebook. I guess that it will become an important factor in Google's ranking algorithm soon enough!
Hiya Viking, I've never heard of Google+ social networking project before, so thank you so much for letting us know. Sounds interesting, specially the last video about just having people to share the same things you are passionate about.. just being able to go to a place where you can say "Hey guys, today I saw yellow roses and they made me smile." Voted up and definitely useful.

LeanMan: Yes this looks like another case of join or be left out of the loop. But I must be honest it really does look like Google have come up with a great alternative to Facebook.
Rosie2010: Yes Rosie I like that feature too, I would be interested in a few different things that I am passionate about like writing, painting and history. The video conference talks for 10 people at a time certainly sounds like a winner for Google+ too. Something I plan to try out as soon as Google Plus is fully launched.
stuntman707: Yes there was a news report that so many people wanted to join the Google+ Field Trial that Google had to stop the invitaion. But Once this is running I don't think anyone will have to be persuaded to join lol.

Hello Fred. The link for the invites was available on the Tuesday of the Launch of the Fild Trial. But Google got so many people applying to join Google+ that they had to close the invitaion.
From news reports the field trial for Google Plus is going very well and it has been reported that Google+ will soon be available for everyone to join.

I actually haven't been following the news on this one... To be honest, it has a lot to do with Google Wave. I got excited about that and put a lot of time and energy into it, and then the whole project flopped and that was it. I must say, though, this looks petty good and I definitely would give it a try if someone sent an invite. I don't mind waiting for it to open up to everyone, though. I don't really use Facebook these days very much, so I'd be open to trying something new.
