Doctor Who DVD Box Set: Complete Specials David Tennant Season 5
69
David Tennant who played The Doctor only did five episodes of the TV series Doctor Who in 2009.
For all those fans who are thinking of buying this Doctor Who product online I have written a review of the Doctor Who: The Complete Specials DVD Box set.
The last episodes with David Tennant
He had already completed three years on the show. Series 2, Series 3 and Series 4.
The BBC wanted to keep the actor for one more year so an agreement was made that he would only make five episodes in his last series.
Doctor Who: The Complete Specials DVD covers these last five episodes
The five episodes on the DVD are:
- The Next Doctor was the Christmas Special in 2009.
- Planet of the Dead was shown as an Easter Special in 2009.
- The Waters of Mars was shown in September of 2009
- The End of Time Parts 1 and 2.
The last two episodes were shown over Christmas and New Year of 2009.
In the episode The End of Time part 2 David Tennant as Doctor Who is killed and regenerates as Doctor Who played by Matt Smith.
Also included are many other special features:
Doctor Who at the Proms.
This was a fantastic show. All the music from Doctor Who including the Doctors song.
Four episodes of the behind the scenes look at the making of Doctor Who.
Doctor Who Confidential - The Next Doctor (New)
Doctor Who Confidential - Planet of the Dead
Doctor Who Confidential - The End of Time, Part One
Doctor Who Confidential - The End of Time, Part Two
BBC Indents
Audio Commentary
Doctor Who at Comic Con
5.1 Surround Sound
Doctor Who deleted Scenes: Wonderful scenes from the show that had to be cut because of time restrictions.
David Tennant Video Diary - The Final Days: I love David Tennant’s Video Diary and even more poignant because it was his last series. David Tennant always produces interesting video diaries as he spends his time making the series. You get to see David Tennant at home and in the BBC studios and how he makes some of the scenes of Doctor Who.
English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired
Doctor Who TV Series
The first actor to play The Doctor was William Hartnell.
The show was very popular and when he decided to leave the writers of Doctor Who came up with a very clever idea so that they could continue making the Doctor Who series.
As a way of replacing the actor they came up the idea that because The Doctor was an alien from the planet Gallifrey his people were able to regenerate into another human body if they were about to die.
He would have slight character changes because he had a new body but The Doctor would keep all the memories of his previous regenerations.
So he would be in a different human body but would be still The Doctor.
This way the Doctor Who TV series could continue. And it certainly did continue for another twenty six years until 1989. Seven different actors played The Doctor during this time.
Doctor Who: The Complete Specials DVD Box set as a Christmas gift
The Doctor in these Specials is sad and lonely because he has lost his friends from the last series
There is a lot more on this DVD than just the episodes that were shown on TV.
The extras that are included in this Doctor Who DVD box set are amazing.
Any David Tennant fan who receives this Doctor Who DVD Box set as a gift or present will be very happy.

Hey Viking, very nicely done. I remember watching the original version and didn't get into much of the newest or latest version. However, you have some great still shots of the episodes and a great looking hub. Keep up the good work. :)

I grew up watching Doctor Who with my Grandmother, even at a young age, I noticed that the main character seemed to change every time I watched it!
Its cool to find know why this was happening.
